I keep nearly working on this barn and then coming to my senses, but at the moment I’m in the mood again and optimistic that it’ll make an office.
My main concerns are that the walls are bowed to buggery:
An entire section of the back wall is bowed out by maybe 9″, and its directly below one of the two trusses. The plan is to build substantial block steps and platform on the outside wall to buttress it, and create the new opening pretty much where the really bowed spot is.
In order to relieve the stress on the outer wall, I’ve propped and braced the truss inside the barn, using the internal block wall as support:
