Nearly there, the chassis is all cleaned and painted, so now the brakes are being stripped, checked, cleaned and rebuilt one by one. It took half a day just to get the bloody wheel nuts off, even with scaffolding for levers. Here’s the joy that I found once I’d got the wheels off –
Basically the entire outer surface of the drum has flaked away, and the thing is a mess. Luckily the shoes were ok and the cylinders and seals in good nick so a good clean was all that was needed at this stage.
