This is Rain. He’s a two year old cob, who came to live with us this weekend, having been a resident at Holly’s Horse Haven, a horse rehabilitation and rescue centre in County Louth. He seems to have been more neglected than mistreated, and so apart from being thin and rather mangy looking, is in good spirits, especially as he is temporarily living in the paddock with all the best grass.

Rain doesn’t know it yet, but he is going to be the farm tractor, pulling logs from the woods, harrowing fields, and generally hauling things about, once he’s a little older. He still has some growing to do, so for now we’ll just be introducing him to some basic training until he fills out. We’ll be keeping you abreast of his progress here.

Our Mel also came from Holly’s and is also doing well.
