Practical Renewable Energy

Practical Renewable Energy

Date: Saturday 1 July - 1pm - 5pm
Cost: £25
Venue: Lackan Cottage Farm

Introduction course

Solar PV, solar hot water and wind power are far more common that they were even 5 years ago, but there are many companies and installers out there making all kinds of claims about how much they cost, how they work, and what is suitable in our climate.

This course is aimed at those who are keen to find out more about the potential of small scale renewable energy and heating, and the opportunities for DIY and home energy storage where a grid connection is not always practical.

This course will give you the tools to evaluate the available solutions that will best meet your needs, take a look at some real world examples of what is available, and how to specify those systems. We will look at Solar PV, Wind turbines, Energy storage solutions, Solar thermal (hot water) and heating systems.

This is a chance to take a good look at our systems, find out more, and have your home scale renewable energy questions answered. We'll tour the farm, and you'll have plenty of opportunity to find out more.

The session begins at 1pm on Saturday 1 July and ends at approximately 5pm. Cost £25, places are limited to 10. Refreshments provided.
