Something visitors always ask about here at Lackan Cottage Farm is our Rocket Mass Heater, and so we are honoured to be able to welcome Leslie Jackson, co-author of the definitive book ‘Rocket Mass Heaters’, to the farm on the evening of Saturday July 25th to give a talk on the development of the RMH, how it works, and how to build one for yourself. We’ll also be sharing some food, and the Rocket will be lit. Lots of time for discussions and Q&A too.
Leslie Jackson is a small publisher and natural builder. Leslie published Rocket Stoves to Heat Cob Buildings with Ianto Evans ten years ago. It is now called Rocket Mass Heaters, and in its Third Edition, is the manual for bulding a simple woodburning stove that efficiently burns wood, and then stores the heat it generates. Leslie lives, dances and plays music in California, USA.
The evening starts at 6pm with a talk from Leslie, we’ll look at the process of building a rocket mass heater, and how it works, with ample time for questions and discussion, and a bite to eat – do bring something to contribute to the meal. Copies of the third edition of Rocket Mass Heaters will be available on the night, too.
There is no fixed charge for attending, we are just asking folk to make a small contribution on the night.
I’m interested Steve.
Hi Steve, both of us are interested.
Hi there,
I would love to come along on Saturday if there are still places available?
Do you have accommodation on the farm?
Many thanks
Kelley
Hi Kelley, you are welcome to come along, but we don’t have any accommodation. There is space to camp if you wish though.
I would like to join you on Saturday evening for the Rocket Stove course
Come on ahead. The talk starts at 6pm,
cheers
Steve
