Today we put up the wind generator – a huge thank you is due to all those who very kindly gave us something towards it – with any luck that gift will keep on helping to make power for us for a long time to come. Thanks also to Sinead, who unwittingly came for lunch and found herself hauling a turbine upright.
So now, (in theory at least) we are equipped for most eventualities, weather wise, and only the thermo-wassname remains as a way of generating electricity (it would go on the woodburner and makes electricity from heat). Not sure whether we’ll investigate that until winter though as the fire isn’t lit a lot at the moment.
