After the success of our recent treebog building weekend, we’re moving on to slightly more ambitious things, and the construction of a little post and beam timber framed building, which will have a reciprocal frame roof.

Today we began by marking out and digging the holes for the main upright posts as Brian is ably demonstrating above.

The next task was to fell the larch that we have earmarked for the frame. Now 50 years old, they were mostly looking rather tired, and will make way for some new planting.

Next job – removing the bark from the felled timber, before we begin to construct the frame.
