Tree planting – NOW FULL

**We’re now full, but thanks for your interest **
On February 16th we’ll be having a tree planting day. Trees on the land is a cross-border initiative working to establish young native trees across the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. It began life as ‘A million trees in one day’ which is how we planted the very first of our trees here some 7 years ago now, and we’ve been taking part ever since. This year we will be putting in over 400 trees, as part of a half acre of forest garden and coppice that we’re establishing in our side field.

We’ve developed the design as part of Steve’s Diploma in Applied Permaculture Design course, and it includes a large area of fruit and nut trees and bushes, as well as open spaces, an extension of our willow plantation, and somewhere for beehives.

Come along and join us on Sunday 16th February when we’ll be talking about the design, planting the 400 native trees, and providing some soup for lunch. It’s unlikely to be warm out so wrap up well, wellies are a must, a spade would be handy. We will be slit planting the trees, so its quick and easy, and you’re welcome to come along at any point in the day. We will be starting at 10am.
