The coming year promises to be an exciting one. We’re celebrating our new LAND centre status by running a full programme of courses, and opportunities for visitors to find our more about the work we’re doing here at Lackan. As well as a series of Practical Sustainability courses covering the topics of Water, Waste, Food, Energy and Buildings, we are offering two weekend courses that are an introduction to permaculture. These weekend courses are being run in conjuction with Claire Templar of Tir Na Nog in Mayo, where we are running two parallel courses so that they are more easily accessible to people.

Not only that, we’re running workshops in Off Grid Living, Hedgerow winemaking and Natural Building throughout the year.

Our themes for this year are community and resilience, so we’re hosting a number of community events such asĀ  Big Lunch, a Midsummer Celebration, and two open days. We’re also running a two day Unconference around these themes, with speakers from a diverse range of backgrounds. This event will be an amazing opportunity to come together and share ideas over a weekend.

We’re also helping to organise the Northern Permaculture Gathering, which is being held in August at Oxford Island Bushcraft Centre, where the amazing facilities provide a fantastic environment for the annual permaculture get together.

Our full range of events is available here and all courses can be booked online
