As part of the South Down GIY (Grow It Yourself) group, we are pleased to announce the very first South Down Food Swap on Saturday October 12th, between 2 and 5pm. The idea is that people bring along their surplus, and are able to swap and barter for the things that other people bring along. It turns out that there is a food swap event network, and what seems to be an agreed format, whereby people get to spend an hour browsing the available goodies, followed by an hour of frenzied haggling. No money can change hands, and it will be interesting to see it all in action.
Come along, bring anything you can, and help give this excellent event a great send off. We can’t wait to see you there.
