DSCF2982sToday is apparently ‘Solar Independence Day‘, and the good weather means that just about now an amazing 15% of the UK’s power needs are being met with solar. Of course, around here 100% of our power needs are being met with solar all the time, and people are still surprised that it is possible to meet the requirements of a household using solar and a home energy storage system.

June was the best month so far for us, with over 200kw of electricity produced – we are well on target to produce a whopping 1.5Mw of power in our first twelve months.  It is good to see so many homes with solar now – if you don’t already have an installation, give it serious consideration before the Feed In Tarriff rates or Renewable Obligations Certificate prices (the amount you get paid for the power you generate and use) drop.
