The year is coming to an end with mercifully dry and cold weather, the horses are sporting their thick winter coats, and we are enjoying some amazing views across to the mountains. Last night we were officially the coldest spot in the UK, with the thermometer reading -8.5c (16.5F).
We are cracking though our reserves of hay and straw, and making sure that not only our own chickens have plenty to eat, the wild birds are feeding well too.
Lyra is learning the ropes, helping out with the stables in the morning, feeding hens, and checking for eggs in the coops.
We are making the most of the sun, soaking up as much as possible with solar pv.
