+++ PLEASE NOTE WE ARE NOW FULLY BOOKED +++
We get a lot of requests from folk who would like to come and have a look around, find out more, and share their stories with us, so this year we have decided to have an open day on June 18th , when anyone can come and see what we get up to, and ask questions about any aspect of what we do here at Lackan Cottage Farm. Many of our visitors have very similar aims and interests, so we also thought it would be good for like minded people to be able to get together and share their ideas. We are asking for a small donation of £4 on the day.
We are asking people to bring some food to share, and we’ll provide some food too. If you would like to attend, please let us know by email – lackancottage@riseup.net
The format is going to be as follows – we’ll start promptly but after that times are approximate.
10.30am – An introduction – how we came to be here, a little history of the place, and our plans for the future
11.00am – Tour of the farm – Off grid power (sun and wind), composting loo and reedbeds, then the buildings, and the veg garden and orchard.
12.00pm – Questions and answers.
12.30pm – Lunch. Visitors are free to have a walk around, visit the woods, gardens etc
2pm – Event ends
Hi Guys,
We have just started a permaculture group in west Donegal and I would love to organise a trip over to see your wonderful project. I’d say we could get between 6 and 10 people. I notice you have an open day in June but are you also available for a visit at other times say in April or May?
Many thanks
Sean
Hi Sean, thanks for getting in touch. We’ve courses here every weekend in May, and until then we’re really concentrating on getting our tiny off grid cottage ready to let, so time wise, June is probably the earliest we could do something. I really hope that you guys can get over for the open day? If the date doesn’t suit, we can sort something out but it is unlikely to be any sooner.
cheers
Steve
