There’s nothing quite like the promise of visitors to get a load of jobs done, and the week leading up to our open day was no exception. Paving laid, beds cleared, weeds thinned, and some serious tidying up. The weather smiled on us the entire time, and our worrying was put aside as a great crowd turned up on the day. Many new friends were made, some incredible food was had, and I hope that everyone got something out of the day.  The kids had a ball.

Despite some interesting confusion when one or two visitors ended up at the local pig farm open day, and were briefly wondering what on earth was going on with the whole eco-thing, being somewhat missing from the pig operation, everyone found us in the end.

Because of numbers we split into two groups, one with Claire starting in the gardens, and another with me, looking at the buildings, solar and wind.

Nearly fourty visitors on the day – thanks once again to all those who came along, for bringing such excellent company and food, and we look forward to doing it all again later in the year.
