Today (in the middle of moving into the house) we headed off to Nut House Hen Rescue to collect four new hens, who were liberated from a caged environment only yesterday. Currently they haven’t ventured out from under the coop, and are being regarded suspiciously from a distance by our two existing hens. They are lovely though, and very tame.
Not long before the new girls were rooting around for food..and here is one of them meeting Summer the hen through the fence. She’s not entirely happy about the new arrivals but hopefully she’ll come round..
Yay they’ve arrived! Can’t wait to see how they get on – something I’d love to do myself here in our place.
Am sure they will have many happy years with you once they have settled in, well done, rescue hens are something I would love to do
