The GIY South Down Gathering is your chance to come together with like-minded people for an afternoon festival of home-grown food.
The GIY South Down Gathering will bring people together for talks, debates and  Q&A sessions – so whether you’re a complete novice or growing your own for years, or just love exploring where your food comes from, this is where you can get inspired and informed.

Michael Kelly Founder of GIY.
Michael established GIY (Grow it Yourself) in 2009 he is a passionate speaker on food issues, self-sufficiency, sustainability and growing your own food.
Klaus Laitenberger
Klaus has been growing organic vegetables for over twenty years in the UK and Ireland.He was the Head Gardener at the Organic Centre in Rossinver, Co. Leitrim for seven years.
GIY Debate – Food Empathy  – a deeper understanding of food that arises when people grow some of their own food.
Expert growers Q and A session.
Bring your seeds, plants and produce to swap with other growers.
