Two thirds of the way through Jean-Baptiste and Marie-Josephine’s visit, and we’ve made amazing progress. Paths laid, 450 trees planted, new water pipes installed to the stables and outhouse, all the old rubble from the house levelled, tonnes of firewood cut, and now the two huge beds dug over between the pond and polytunnel. Considering the terrible weather we have had, it is nothing short of amazing.
A week to go and suddenly there seems to be so much left to do – more trees to plant, beds to dig, as well as all the everyday tasks.
Hard to believe that it is only about this time last year that our offer was accepted and we began the long wait (until May as it happens) for the legal process to run its course. It is so exciting to arrive at spring with much of the heavy lifting complete, and many areas ready for planting.
