This wonderful building is the Community Hub, in the Tir-Y-Gafel community in Wales, known more commonly as Lammas. In January I was lucky enough to spend a fantastic (and cold) week with 13 other volunteers, working to clad the roof with its massive pallet and earth layers.
We also began work on the internal straw walls, which are now clad with their lime render finish, and some amazing finishing touches have been added since my last visit.

These pictures were taken on my return visit in March, for my first meeting with others intending to create what will effectively be ‘Lammas 2′ – its’ working name is Tir Teg.

I’m down there at the back wall, with James, adding in straw bales. Here’s a similar view now. Everyone who has worked on the building can be rightly proud – its an amazing achievement.
